Snow in time for Christmas....but will it last?

Hello everyone. Just a little note to say "Hi" and ask mom & dad what happened to Daggett Family Blogs II? I check it everyday hoping to see some pictures and nothing. Did you guys forget how to do it or have you just been busy? If you have time and pictures could you put some on their so I can see them? Hope everthing is going good back home for everyone and that everyone is healthy. The weather here has been pretty nice...upper 40's. They're saying that freezing weather is on the way for the weekend. They said it could get as low as 30 deg. Ha Ha....they've evidently never been to Chicago before to see some real cold weather. Sorry that I haven't been posting any pictures of Cassie. She's never home when I am. I take these pictures in the morning before Cori & Jacob leave for school and Cassie is long gone. I will get some and post them. She has her dance recital tonight so hopefully we will get some good pictures from that and I will post them tomorrow. Our camera has a video recorder also so I will try to record it and put it on the blog. Key word is TRY. I'm not sure how to do that or IF I can do that.

Holiday Decorating

Hey everyone....sorry it's been a little while. Been busy with work. Today (Sun.) we got the house decorated and the tree up so it's beginning to look like Christmas here. I received the package in the mail for Jacob on Thursday mom. Those are so cool...he will love them! This past week was pretty cold but it hasn't been to bad lately. Yesterday and today were in the upper 30's and this week is suppose to be in the upper 30's so it's pretty nice. Jacob goes in on Tueday to get his arm checked and a full cast put on. He's doing great with it.....getting used to it. I had a meeting with all his teachers and psychiatrist on Thursday and they were all saying how wonderful he is doing! His school psychiatrist says he thinks Jacob is going to be a Engineer! Me and Diana have said that before too. They said he is close to the point where they can start to mainstream him back to regular classes. Firts the non-academic classes like gym, computers, recess...but it's a start! He's doing fantastic. They told me they were going on a field trip this Thursday and asked if I wanted to go and chaperone. I think I might. They are going to see "The Nutcracker" and then to a chocolate candy factory for a tour. He's pretty excited about the candy factory tour but not the play. He said "I don't want to go see some stupid ballet." He'll come around. They also told me his class is starting a program, sometime in Dec. and running through March, that the kids can take skiing lessons. They will be bused up to Snowbird Resort and be given lessons on how to ski for only $4.00! He's pretty excited. We just have to wait for January and the O.K. from his doctor so he can go. I hear they have 18 inches of fresh soft powder in the mountains. A guy I work with went snowboarding last Sat. and said it was great! If my foot gets any better I want to get up there and go skiing with Brian when he comes out. Anyways...the girls are doing great. Cassie is still doing very good in school and anxious for Christmas to come. Cori is also doing very well and is still attatched at the hip to the neighbor girl Krista. It's good for her to have a friend so close. Diana has her company Christmas party this Saturday night at the Hilton Hotel downtown Salt Lake City so that should be fun. We've seen the hotel before as we were driving by and it is beautiful! Anyways...trying to keep everyone up to date on everything. As always...Love and miss everyone.

Little Snow is Better Than No Snow

So we got a little bit of snow last night. When I say little I mean maybe 3 inches....far from the blizzard they were predicting. The kids are happy so I guess a little snow is better than no snow. The bad thing is it's been pretty cold and windy so it's hard for the kids to play outside for very long. I shoveled the driveway for the first time this morning. Not too bad......the problem last night was our driveway is on a hill and I couldn't get my truck up the driveway because of the ice so I had to park in the street. Anyways...get ready for the snow and cold because it's probably coming your way. Stay warm and I'll talk to you all later. As always....Love and miss everyone.

The End of Turkey Weekend

The end is here. The long weekend has come to an end and back to work tomorrow. Not only will it be Monday but it will be the start of a winter storm brewing and estimated to dump lots of snow 3 days straight! We had a good holiday though....nice to see family. After a long couple of days in the hospital we were able to relax and catch up with Boyd, Della, Tiffany and Taylor. We were able to get out to Antelope Island for them to see some jackrabbits and buffalo and up to the mountains to see Robert Redfords "Sundance" Resort. The weather was perfect for sightseeing! A little cool but sunny. Della, Diana and the girls even had a chance to do a little shopping. It doesn't seem like 6 days off.....it went by so fast! I guess run, run, run will do that. So today we're doing nothing but vegging. I trying to build up the energy to put up Christmas lights while it's nice out....today might be our last nice day. Happy Thanksgiving from the Daggett's

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone is doing good. It's been a busy morning here. Diana and Della were up first thing this morning getting the turkey, stuffing and everything else started and made monkey bread for breakfast! Then they made snack platters of food that we've all been snacking on so it's been a good morning. It's pretty overcast and it looks like a storm is moving in. They are calling for a chance of snow and rain and the temp. is suppose to drop 20 deg. today. Sounds like a good day to start a fire and stay in and veg. Jacob is doing good. He hasn't complained of any new pains so that's good! He's still able to play the playstation and computer so he is happy. :) The girls , Cassie, Cori, Tiffany and Taylor, have been watching movies and catching up. It'll be a very relaxing day. Happy Thanksgiving from the Daggett's

It's getting close now and I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. It will be our first one in Utah and we are fortunate enough to have family coming out to visit and celebrate the holidays with us. Diana will be cooking her first Thanksgiving dinner and I know it will be delicious! They are calling for snow on Thanksgiving so it will be a good day to stay in, have a nice warm fire, get stuffed from all the delicious food and hang out with everyone! As promised...here are some pictures if the kids (and kittens) playing this morning. Notice how long Jacob's hair is getting. In the one picture we said he looks like "Buddy" the bad kid from the Incredible's movie. Don't have time to type much....got errands to run with Diana on my one day off. Alive in Utah.

Hey Everyone.......our computer is back from the dead! After messing with this thing for a week it's finally fixed. Still working on pictures but will have some SOON! Not much new. Kids are doing great! Cori and Jacob just went back to school after a 3 week break. Both were very excited! Cassie is close to getting all A's so that's great! We had parent teacher conference's for Jacob on Wednesday and the teacher could not say enough great things about him! He is doing phenominal! A complete turn around from last year. He's matured so much over the summer. Almost straight A's too and his behavior in class is excellent. All he needs to improve is his handwriting and they are working on that in class. Cori is coming along great in school also. She knows her phone number, address , shapes, colors, alphabet and is starting to read very well. We got her a thick hard cover book of "Dick and Jane" stories and she reads it very well. Diana is doing well at work and has put in for a supervisors position and she should find out soon if she got it! Keep your fingers crossed and pray for her. I've been busy at work....6 days a week working 9 hours a day and Sunday working 5 hours. It feels like the movie "Groundhog Day". Everyday seems the same. Feet are still sore but the money is nice....especially since Christmas is around the corner! Anyways....so far the weather for Thanksgiving weekend looks pretty good! Hopefully it will be nice sightseeing weather! Hope everyone at home is doing good and we love and miss all you guys!
